Hospitals and Service Providers in Secondary Care
In the secondary care sector, HSCR carries out patient surveys for District Health Boards (DHBs) and private hospitals. It has a particular interest in the nationwide Patient Survey and based on data it receives from the Ministry of Health, it produces the quarterly New Zealand Patient Satisfaction Index (NZPSI) which report contains patient satisfaction rates obtained in all New Zealand DHBs.
The NZPSI presently consist of some 521,174 patient records and over 8.3 million ratings from inpatients and outpatients in 21 District Health Boards.
In addition to implementing the nationwide Patient Survey and the quarterly publication of the NZPSI, HSCR also produces the Top Line Results Report (for an example see Top Line Sample Report) and other Ad hoc reports which analyse patient satisfaction in a specific ethnic group, age-band or type of patient (e.g. elective – acute)
For companies providing a service to the DHBs, e.g. food services or cleaning services, HSCR produces quarterly reports which provide comparative data between DHBs.
